Currently at the livi auto parts day it seems knockhill for some reason has put 6 inch high concrete humps on the inside of every corner after the kerbs.
Should be fun when people try to straight line corners and the chicane

I had heard a rumour that this might be on the cards . I'm guessing the chicane is going to become a bit slower than before................ or there is gonna be some serious 2 wheeled action!

going to make it interesting for BTCC, the smrc guys know and respect that going 4 wheels over the white line is a big no no, the BTCC and supports use whatever they like. not any more (evil smirk)

Good thinking. The constant wanton (and unchecked) cheating by the BTCC crowd has always been breathtaking.

Ah, now I understand what a "hot dog" kerb is. Have to say I'm not surprised, KH have been wanting to curb (pardon the pun) corner cutting for a while. Aside from the racing rules, it makes a heck of a mess of the track and there were some serious ruts developing on the inside of some corners where folk just ignored the track. Will it break cars, remains to be seen, but it's possibly better than bouncing off a tyre bundle on the apex which resulted in a lot of spins and/or tyres left in the middle of the track Some kerbs at other circuits, such as many at Cadwell and some at Croft from experience, are practically unusable and we managed quite happily there without ruining anything. Actually, many of the KH kerbs, though friendly and low, did nothing for speed as they only served up wheelspin if you took to much of them on the apex. As far as BTCC goes, well they have their own rules anyway, but it will be interesting to see how they play now they're forced to stick to the track. Or perhaps not, maybe you can run stupid camber and just ride them Baz

I have to admit these look rather dangerous to me. It just needs someone to clip one accidentally or get squeezed on to it and a roll will ensue. If it doesn't roll, it'll suffer damaged suspension or something.
As for the Touring Cars, most will probably go on the INSIDE of them! As happens at the chicane once the floppy gets destroyed on the first lap!
What do the drivers think of them?

Your redundant now dagman too, you might want to take a couple of magazines to the next SMRC to keep you amused.

Ha ha, very true... other than for righting upturned cars!
As it happens, I am hoping to move on this year to the observer team as I incurred a back injury in October which precludes me from pushing cars or running on uneven surfaces (i.e. the grass bankings).

about time you upgraded, with the amount of experience you have you should be clerking. All I can say David is that it has been a pleasure to have you as my IO a few times, personally I reckon the hut at the chicane should be named in your honour

David In your duties as an observer remember Legends 71 never passes under a yellow flag and any accidents are caused by everyone else.! Ali

And I never hit the floppies at the chicane... oh bugger!
I guess if I hit them this year you may be able to tell what make my exhaust is..!
