Butchers Bill for the test day on Saturday and Track Day on Sunday:-
Drive plate broke, CV joint broke, wheel bearings broke, front bumper broke on Saturday. Rear bumper broke, rear lights broke, body trim broke, rear panels broke on Sunday. I've looked at my bank balance and now I'm broke.....Ha!
My weekend ended when I ended up in the ditch on the infield side of the track just after a fairly impressive tank slapper while attempting to go flat out through the chicane. I won't be trying that again.
Repairs are now complete and shall be out again on the test day in March.
www.vectrachallenge.com/id17.html heh 3rd car down, guess that confirms it - not identical paintjob but near enough to be either the same car a few years ago, or at the very least a teammate. Didn't realise those cars were still around much, I'll have to look out for them down here - always liked that series on the tv but Vauxhall pulled the plug before I reached a live race.
Edit: argh, I'm rapidly developing a new appreciation for the SMRC - their website calendar tells you plainly what series is racing where and when. BARC gives dates and tracks but no indicator of what series will be there! And the series page gives no dates! BRSCC have been no better in the past, and circuit websites seem equally bad... I'd always assumed plain information for potential spectators was standard but it would seem our racing is infinitely better for that than club racing "down south"
