Hi Steve, I had the same questions and more before the start of last season. From my own experience, the best info and advice you'll find is in the Knockhill paddock. With regard to suspension set up and tyre pressure, everyone's car set ups and preferences are different. My advice would be to get the car as ready as possible as far as the mechanicals and safety aspects, and to read through the technical regs to make sure your car complies with all aspects. Then get entered into your first race and head for Knockhill. If you go up the day before there will be plenty of other XR2 racers and helpers who will be more than happy to help you sort out the car for scrutineering etc. You'll also pick up many tips on suspension set ups, pressures, cornering lines, braking points, how to drive, how not to drive etc etc.
And on the first corner......... all of it will be forgotten!
Joking aside, most of the XR2 guys are friendly and will be willing to give you a dig out where necessary.
Good luck and look forward to seeing you there!

Hi Steve, Welcome to the world of XR2's. I assume if you've searched for 'tyre pressures' on the forum you've found we run anything from 10psi to 75psi on diagonally opposite wheels I'm sure you'll be able to filter out the disinformation, but I just can't think that anyone ever posts anything useful like that here ;D I've dropped you a wee PM. Cheers Baz
