The club have made my decision easier!!! but also there is no value for money in what we had all been doing, The amount of money per race meeting just to get onto the grid and then only getting one race,,for some reason the SMRC cant run a car meeting that would give everybody two races in that day....i also pitty the drivers that have to pay £140 to enter,,and if its a double header you have to pay half that again and what do you get back, wheres the prize money from the club??

There must be someone who would like to race in Scotlands FASTEST RACE SERIES!!! Its a myth that it costs an arm and a leg and the cars are very easy to get on with, also the people who help run the other cars are spot on always giving help love and support,,,,, well maybe not the love bit!!!!

Duncan, I would like to as well.
I've now decided that FFord is maybe another choice along with XR2s and S&SC for '05. £7,000 for a car (I assume ready to race?) isn't too bad.
Just tell me that you guys run at a budget of less than £10,000 a season (quote a rough figure!) and you'll have got my interest.
As you point out, it just seems to be SMRC's obsession with stupid entry fees that is putting me off in the slightest. Been used to £40-80 entry fees in karting, so its a bit of a hike to £140 for a quarter of the races.
You going to to be at KH on Sunday? If so maybe see you there.

a budget of £10,000 would do a hell of alot of good,,i really dont think you could ever spend that amount of money racing a FFZetec is scotland inless you go taking evert corner of it at every meeting and that aint gonna happen!! Yeah i had some damage but that comes with racing,,some my fault,,,some NOT!! In Zetec land all you need to buy regularly are brake pads(which i have a stock of fronts) and tyres which you can only use 2 new ones per round(an idea to cost cutting),Engines are bullit proof as are the gearboxes!! If you are a karter as i see you are then this is the only proper route you can take to stay in proper race cars on slicks and work on your own set up,the car has shocks that are adjustable so set up no longer has to be a compromise there also is pit equip, stands, wets, ratois, boxes of new pads,,,a seroius bit of thought should go into this cause the car is going very very cheap!!! All in the name of bike racing!!!
