and for me - the final XR2 finale! Will be selling the green No12 after the last race as highly likely to be moving elsewhere in 2011 (my workplace is hanging on the result of the Defence Review). Hope to clinch 2nd Newcomer and maybe 4th overall if Baz is still misfiring! Would be nice to finish with a full throttle dry track but it is Oct. Last year's final race was great fun, hoping this year will be similar.

I'm not holding my breath for a fault free performance, though the latest problem bits are now fixed.
Yeah a dry race would be nice, unless my car isn't playing properly, in which case wet would be just splendid!

And for me - possibly my first race (ever anywhere) in the XR2 series.
Only ignition problems, cooling problems, electrical problems, etc etc. A few more headaches, skinned knuckles, long days, late nights, pints of coffee and a bulging swear box.
And to think, I was laughed at when I got this beat up old ex championship XR2 for less than a grand. It's only taken 5 months so far....
Puke yellow XR2 - thy name is Lazarus.

New pistons, rods, rings and valve stem seals in, engine and box in the process of going back in today, run it in this weekend, kick it's hole next weekend. Simples...

Timetable on SMRC website. Looks like we (XR2s) will have the honour of closing the 2010 championships as we are due to race last - might put those spare headlights in the van....! Good entry list for the last race of the season - good luck to everyone.

So how'd it all go? Facebook tells me two things - it was f'ing cold and Finlay Adams got hit by most of the XR2 field.

The Legends had some brilliant races. Third was wet and God didn't much notice.... Congratulations to Craig Mitchell on winning the rookie title and showing that ginger is disease which we can all overcome. Massive well done to Colin Atkinson on winning the title all on his own. Great effort for such an old man ;-)

Had some close racing on Sunday but didnt enjoy it much. All in all, wish I'd banked the money in the savings fund for next year.
