Seeing as the season is close to starting up, who is doing what and anyone got interesting news to share? As well as general interest, I've signed up to give commentary/articles promoting the SMRC race card on www.racingexposure.com/blog and after writing a bit of a season preview, I'm conscious I know a lot of the rumour etc for Minis and a bit of chat about the XR2s but next to bugger all about the Formula Fords or Legends etc. Obviously this weekend's test session should get me some photos and a bit of chat but be good to hear what everyone has heard.

The rumour mill tells me that Ian Forrest is going to be racing an XR2 this season, and that David Headen is looking to race in Classics as well as Sports and Saloons. I also heard that there is a seriously nice Classics line up for this season.

Yeah, heard Charlie Shaw's selling his car to buy Andy Gallacher's, Tony has just got the Evo back from a lot of stuff being done. Think him and Ian are planning on doing Fiestas as well as S&S this year again.
From my ARDS test we can expect another Escort Cosworth in S&S and a Ferrari 308 (iirc) in Classics.
Edit: Sandy said Ian Forrest was running an XR2 this year I'm pretty sure.

One truth I can give is that I pretty much wont be on the grid in 2010 now cause of lack of the green stuff barring a last hour turn around EDIT: I'm back baby!

aye, mind Ian saying he was going to win the Xr2 title this year and be the 1st to do it in 3 decades.
the list of potential classics entry on the smrc site is totally mouth watering, some lovely motors and a new class structure too. with IIRC class D for anything over 3500cc. really love the classics, the sound of those V8's has me drooling over my overalls

I see Oly Mortimer is back in Mini's this year, that's going to set the bar very high for all you Mini guys.
Going to be doing Fiesta ST's this year, although looking at my new car right now you wouldn't guess!
