For anyone who doesn't already know.... the test day on Sunday 21st March is now a full day rather than the 2-5pm slot as advised on the Knockhill website. I'm heading up with the XR2 for my first time on track with it...... should be fun What's the normal protocol for a test day?? (just cos I've not done one before ) Cheers, Greg

How strict is the scrutinering for testing? I take it an xr2 rubbed/sanded down or in primer with out front or rear bumpers would be a 'no'? Hitting major delays right now.......and still to drive the bloody thing!

Greg
They won't care about the appearance for a test session. As long as its safe you'll be fine. Cosmetics do, apparently, matter for race meetings though ...

DC Yeah it was me DC but thats good to know, so even though I have no front or rear valances or bumpers I'll be ok? Greg yours is looking great, I think I should put a pic up of mine now so the slagging can start!

Thanks Martin...... Falkirk fan..... but it was red when I got it and I couldn't afford to paint the fecker blue after what I've already spent! Although I changed the bumpers and arches from red to white which looks ok I think!

Looks very smart. I give it half a lap in that condition. Joking aside I'm sure you'll be fine and hope all goes to plan testing.

Greg I would't be shouting about the falkirk thing, say I stay in Falkirk now but i'll always be a Pars man. Testing is for checking your car and practise. You'd prob be best just to find your own bit of Tarmac and concentrate on yourself, quite a few begginers (like myself) in the past ha e tried to run(race) before they could walk(get round the black stuff). Ask one of the more experienced people if you can follow them.
Try and concentrate all the time, there are 3 fast blind corners at Knockhill, everytime you approach any corner especially the blind ones, always expect the unexpected, be prepared for anything. Whether it be your car spinning or someone else spun.
Build up your speed in your own time. It never seems like your going very fast untill your having your own accident, be careful ........
There are 3 rules...........
1. Enjoy youself. That's the whole point. 2. Regardless of what anybody says, go at your own pace. 3. Last but not least, don't follow charlie T. Follow someone that stays on the track ha! Ha!
Only joking Charlie............

Sound advice there! No need to bin it before the season starts. If it's pishin wet like the forecast says it's great practice, just build up your speed and enjoy. Ignore your lap times for a while till your comfortable and even then, only worry about going faster than yourself for now.
See you all in April!

Coincidentally, this Sunday is also the marshals' training day so some satsumas will be wandering around after lunch casting a beady on eye on what you lot are up to!! So...no knocking down my floppy pole at the chicane!!!
