Well, after having to cancel an earlier date due to work, finally sat me ARDS test today at Knockhill. Despite sleet and hailstones and the Seat Cupra aquaplaning half way across the pit straight it all went to plan. There were another 2 guys also sitting theirs today, and although I can't remember their names, both also passed ok (and are also running in XR2's this year).
So......... lot's of newbies for you guys to aim at this season it seems! ;D

Cheers guys I'm not making the test on Sunday unfortunately . Although I was aiming to be there, I've still got a few bits and bobs to do to the car. Anyone know if there are any more pre season sessions arranged yet? I know Tadster have one arranged for the 27th March.... but any others?

Buggeration! Just got a call from Knockhill, tomorrow's ARDS test is cancelled because the circuit's snowed in. Never thought I'd be so gutted at having a day off work! (ironic when you consider I work part time as a ski instructor on the weekends and its one sport's lifeblood thats screwing my agenda for the other sport)

I know everyone tells you it isn't difficult, and as long as you know the flags and don't chuck the car off the circuit you'll pass......... but I also know how nervous it feels as the day gets closer. It makes it even more of a bummer to have it cancelled the day before!! Never mind emicen, I'm sure they'll reschedule it soon enough, and.............. as long as you know the flags and don't chuck the car off the circuit you'll pass........ ! Good luck anyway!

Dont worry too much about getting the MSA card though, if you pass the test then Ian Forrest can give you permission to go testing as I was almost in the same situation last year. You will need the card for the 1st race however

Dont worry too much about getting the MSA card though, if you pass the test then Ian Forrest can give you permission to go testing as I was almost in the same situation last year. You will need the card for the 1st race however ...and my club membership card. According to that DVD I've watched every night for the last week I just want to get it done. Couldnt make the 1st one of the year as I had a non-missable meeting in work. Feb was a no go from the outset since everyone booked for Jan needed to use the Feb date. They've rescheduled it for the 15th though, so not too long to wait. Gives me another 12 passes of the DVD and some more reading of the blue book. (recommended toilet reading incidentally, perfect layout with the short sections to fill a quick read!)
