Hi Best bet is to buy direct from Wheels Around. They stock the correct control tyre. www.wheelsaround.com/DC

Hi SandyReid65 I also searched high and low this time last year for these tyres (XR2 newbie last year). Found a dealer in Inverness who could order them specially but prices were way above Wheels Around. The other benefit to supporting Wheels Around is they will keep coming to the races so you can replace a punctured tyre on the day if needed. Plus they balance the wheel with proper sticky weights and will do them overnight if you leave the wheels on sat after testing. All in all, glad I ended up using them last year - very friendly and helpful, even on busiest race weekends.

Hi there,
thats correct its Ronnie Thom and his wife that are there on the race weekends. If your buying the tyres from them, they will also flip them on the rims so you can rotate them between races free of charge! Cant say fairer than that. They are located near the bridge of Earn if you need to get hooked up between meetings.

Wouldn't be too hasty in buying the Kumho's - see from Wheelspin Kumho have ended the sponsorship of the XR2's and a new tyre may be getting phased in.

Yes, and I see the XR2's start behind the ST's too. Hope this isn't going to push up the costs, certainly hope we don't get slicks/wets...the championship doesn't need that. Stick with Kumho's I say.

Apologies Sandy for the bum steer ... Mind you, if I ever got a copy of Wheelspin I might have been aware of this. Haven't received a copy for the last couple of years Right, gripe mode off. Time for a phone call to the SMRC to find out why .... DC

Wonder if we are maybe going to Yoko's as thats what the XR2's run down south. Possibly something to do with the Cadwell round maybe?

Martin,
Had heard that Ian Forrest was testing Dunlops on an XR2. Not sure but assume not same ones as ST.

Baz I read that about ST's and wondered if it was right? i.e. had the writer got mixed up with the two cars. I believe the hope would be to get a Dunlop road tyre same type as the Kumho's whilst ST's stay on slicks / wets.

Hmm - pity. The Yoki's are a great tyre. As much if not more grip than the Kumho's and longer lasting too ...

Dunlops would be a nice choice but as like Baz says hopefully wont be proper slicks.
Guess now we'll have to remove all the Kuhmo banners lol

I might add that Yoko's are around the same price as the Kumho's and Dunlops about 40 notes dearer (if it's the ones I think it is). Unless we get a substantial discount, Yoko's please.
I'm trying to find out if the ST's start at the front.
