Sorry for daft question but obviously belts and extingusher have expiry dates on them. Seat has the date when it was made on it. Do seats expire? 5 years after manufacture date?? Looked in blue book and it didnt mention but then it doesnt mention anything about belts or extingusher dates either. Ta.

Only belts expire as far as I know. I think seats and extinguishers only expire for FIA purposes...but you should get extinguishers serviced (everyone does you know ) I would expect the MSA will eventually start making them expire every so often and push up the cost of motorsport yet more, like they changed the belt regs, then the overalls, then the helmets. from MSA website (http://www.msauk.org/site/cms/contentviewarticle.asp?article=763) Do my seats have to be homologated? Unless specifically stated in Championship Regulations for National events homologated seats are not mandatory. For International Events FIA homologated seats are required. From 1.1.2009 all new stage rally cars will require FIA homologated seats for National use (1.1.2012 for cars that currently hold a valid MSA Competition Car Log-Book).
Guess if don't need homologated seat - no need to worry about expiry (5yrs on homolog seats)....yet?
