Probably wont make it as this bizarre switch to a Saturday means I'll be working and wont get home till half the day is finished. Cheers SMRC! Hi I may be wrong, but I think this was due to the availabilty of circuit rather than an actual decision on behalf of SMRC Best to check with SMRC about that. Fair enough if that's the case. There was word going round at the last meeting that it was some kind of toe in the water test with regard to more Saturday meeting but who knows... probably come up at the AGM and suchlike.

Just to say cheers to the 2 marshals who returned my nearside rear wheel from the chicane gravel trap - complete with brake drum and snapped axle stub still bolted to it! Didn't get their names as I was working on repair when they popped over (XR2 No26). Couldn't replace axle in end so left early - at least I finished first race - first XR2 to do it on 3 wheels? (probably not....) Hope to be sorted for next event in 3 weeks.

Thats the first axle I've seen let go on track in a while, lucky you will get away with a new axle! Heard stories of guys rolling down Duffus in the past when it lets go.

Also, a lucky man was the Mini driver, Alan Waugh I think, who did a complete roll into the tyre wall after the chicane but carried on to finish the race with a slightly crumpled roof!!
David, away to the warm sun tomorrow...!

s3swiss - You may have noticed me - #37 - chasing you up the hill to the chequered flag.
I had really hoped I could beat a 3-wheeler, but I guess we don't use the back wheels for much in a straight line!

For the first time in a long time I came up for the afternoon and was very pleased to see such healthy grids and (I arrived for the 2nd race after lunch) every race I saw was great entertainment. From the sight of the car park it looked like it was a good sized crowd, though there seemed to be as many parked cars as people!

hi Ken - cheers for the link - didn't feel that violent in the car thankfully. Wasn't sure what had happened until i saw the wheel rolling into the gravel. After that I was heading for the pits when I saw the chequered flag so thought 'why not?' Pulled in after the bridge though and reversed up pit road as guessed doing a parade lap with 3 wheels and no brakes might cause a few issues...

From the sight of the car park it looked like it was a good sized crowd, though there seemed to be as many parked cars as people! Extra cars may be due to the driving experience thing that was on (diggers, cranes, fire engines etc). Hopefully some of those people liked the racing and will come back. Took some pics, sorry mainly Fiestas! www.flickr.com/photos/9361458@N04/sets/72157622465602176/
