saw on the racewall site that we will have their company for saturday night entertainment on the tri-oval with F1 stockcars (blinking V8 powered things) f2's and hot rods, could be a good night, balmy summer's evening, sitting at the haripin, ovies tied round waist, bottle of deuchars IPA in hand, or as it is KH, pouring with rain but still sitting somewhere with ale
only concern is lack of paddock space for the stockie lads as paddocks 1&2 will be full, use the spectator parking on the far side of the hairpin??

Is there access to the track from that area down by the hairpin or is it a case of up the outside of the track to get access from Paddock brae???

Looking forward to the weekend, it's fun to be part of these big events. That said the legends are very spread out over the two days - 6 hour gap between our two races on Sunday! Still, allows plenty of time to watch some racing and have a wander.
Shame the GT entry is likely to be really low.

the gt's at rockingham only had 13 cars, the ginetta G20's had 15, national f-fords 23 and vw's 20. as usual the legends will probably be the best of the weekend. saturday night looks okay with F1, F2, and hotrods on the tri oval
plus I reckon the crowd wont be great with btcc at croft. who cares we will still enjoy it

Here's my video of the Lamborghini taking out a photographer at Knockhill today - the poor guy was stretchered away and I haven't heard about his condition. Anyone got any info? The lap before the group of four had been fighting really close so I thought I'd film them next time round just in case something happened... www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8a9vJLZB40&

We were up at the chicane and according to the marshalls the photographer wasn't actually hit by a tyre but fell over into a ditch whilst trying to make his escape!!

He didn't even need hospital treatment. I'll come on again tomorrow with my full marshalling report, I really need to go for a shower so don't have time right now.

Great day's racing, really enjoyed it all - what the GTs lacked in quantity they made up for in quality, some amazing cars out there Legends were as good as usual, Saloons and Sportscars seemed to have a bit of a race of attrition though, only 4 finishers of the 2nd race? Ouch! Having said that, 15 minute races compared to the usual 10 laps, guess the more fragile cars were likely to have some trouble there! FFord1600 races were great, especially the first one, loved that 5-car battle for 2nd place while it lasted (and this is coming from someone who isn't usually that keen on single seaters!) I had no idea how violent Volkswagens could be though, so much bodywork all over the hairpin and main straight Was disappointed to not really see the van in action though, I was videoing the first lap and he was on his roof before he could reach me on the 2nd! And were the Ginettas trying to set a record for most drivethrough penalties in one race? Was entertaining but confusing Glad to hear the photographer is alright after that crash - looked really bad from the video. Somebody on youtube got an even closer angle of it by the way: www.youtube.com/watch?v=DL8ETq1FUlw

Oh and tragedy for Peter Taddei - hope the Fievo wasn't totally trashed in that pile-up but it looked pretty bad...

The above picture gives some idea what happened there, I was actually watching Gallagher at the time when I saw the subaru and caterham spinning together (no clue how that started), then while I was taking a photo of them I heard an almighty BANG and saw the Fievo had run into the back of the subaru with the above result. Shaw just came past me sounding really bad and pulled into the pits, didn't see what happened to anyone else.
