Can someone fill me in on why the second [F3] race was red flagged??? One of the cars fell off at the hairpin and was beached on the exit kerb (all credit to the guy he did try to avoid it getting there). It wasn't on the racing line but it still wasn't safe. I guess that they decided to push things for a few more laps till they could declare a result...it took quite a bit of work to pull that car out. I will give the guy some credit though. He stayed with car till the guys could dig it out. He even helped the marshalls stick one of the other cars that had died at the hairpin out of gear so it could be moved. The other 3 drivers, including the winner(!), had stomped off like petulant toddlers... Agree with the comments about the carpark but it wasn't too bad... There was still a heck of a lot of capacity left up on the top of the hill unused... The crowd was not exactly like the BTCC days of 5-6 years ago...sigh.

Glad to hear everyone had a good race day cos I didn’t. Worst yet 2 spins and 3 crashes why oh why was I looking forward to being in the pack?. 1st heat Gerard nipped inside at MacIntyre and was slow out I thought I could get him back mad lines through Butchers and Chicane and yes I lost it. Then on the inside outbraking 68 for the Hairpin my rear wheel caught his mid nerf bar spinning him and we bounced off each other, still no damage. Heat 2 I think Gary got me into Duffus and I got him at MacIntyre he got me again out of the chicane and we then caught up on a pack nudging legends going into Clark Gary took the outside I took the inside and Bang.. 5 ploughed into the side of me… end of race 2. Started the final my 1st Pole I did hesitate 20 ft from the line lights still Red but I saw Gary heading for the space between myself and 5 so floored it. I then collected a spinning 26 at Duffus glad to finish lap one in 10th then the side by side twin act of Ally and Alex took me on the inside at Clark, I’m told I gave them too much room… Funny I didn’t think I had much option!! So I ended up spinning. If they ever show the recordings the TV company were making of the first 7 or 8 races that day I suppose I will get plenty coverage. . As they say any publicity is better than no publicity at least I may see why the Burnett Motorsport Team kept hitting me!

Report is now online... yeah, I know it was ages ago, but I've got a bit behind lately and I'm having trouble catching up again :blackeye: Glad we'll be down to one meeting a month soon (from the website point of view, if not the fan point of view )

Don't know if anyone else noticed but the F3 meeting in 2004 looks like being just that..... ie no GTs... Seemingly due to the proximity of Le Mans! Knockhill isn't the only track suffering the same fate either!
Shame... no more trying to shove 20 ton Jaguars out the Chicane gravel! Well, it felt that heavy.... !

Awww Yukk! That's really bad Though at least it is good news for British GT racing and GT racing in general that we have some real contenders that can actually go to Le Mans... Shame... no more trying to shove 20 ton Jaguars out the Chicane gravel! Well, it felt that heavy.... ! Yeah. I watched that one. It looked like hard work...and no small whiff of fuel from it too!

Hardly worth turning up to see a bunch of plastic cars racing then

TL - I suppose it is a bit hard on the neck muscles watching these "plastic racers" lapping at almost twice the speed of Knockhill's normal racers Personally I found it rather fun to see mechanics making damper adjustments etc under an anorak in case the opposition should see what their setting were. If that's what F3 is like then F1 must have great difficulty functioning with paranoid mechanics & team bosses. Bit different from Legends where we all exchange info on settings & tyre pressures etc. Ali

I suppose that can be 'blamed' on F3 being more of a business than it is a sport..

Ali! You mean that you can change settings on a Legend?? How sophisticated is that!
Wish I'd known that when we wrecked, sorry, drove them at the fun day!!! Hee hee!! I knew it wasn't quite to my liking.....!
