Blair/Dave/et al, Do you fancy meeting up at one of the BTCC rounds for camping + BBQ + beer etc again? Can't do Croft as it clashes with our Brands meeting but what about Rockingham? That's the closest for you guys to travel I'm afraid (Knockhill doesn't count!) N. www.nicksandersonracing.com

I have something slightly important on the Rockingham weekend (wedding) so dont think ill be able to make that. Neither will you if your coming across to get pissed. ;D Donnington is when SMRC are at Croft. Oulton is when SMRC is on. They didnt plan this out very well.

I tested at Snetterton last Friday and the airwave BMWs of Collard and Adams were out....
Geez those things are quick !!
There were also a couple of Clios and numerous Carrera Cup cars out including Glynn Geddie
Look out for Glynn this year I reckon he is going to be right at the sharp end
And Johnny Adam, 2nd fastest at the official BTCC test at Brands yesterday, beating the old qualifying lap record in the process.....

Seems Adam commited the mortal sin of daring to touch the BTCC's "big name crowd favourite" Jason Plato so lost his win in Race 3 at Brands. That's despite Matt Neal running people out of the way at least 4 or 5 times and Plato himself making a career out of dirty driving. Not impressed.

I think touch is a bit of a understatement Mike... More like punted so hard he ended up in France. That is disapointing though because he was mega impressive and Plato was very sporting about it - shaking hands after the race. End of the day Plato saved it and got second, its not like he was out of the race and he probably would have got overtaken anyway, bit of a harsh decision for what was obviously a mistake.

I have to agree with Mike completely here...
Matt Neal's driving was so so dirty and he wasn't penalised, whereas Plato braked early, it was obvious!
Johnny tried to avoid it by going to the left but in the end a crash was unavoidable.
Double standards by the stewards....better be careful that the BTCC doesn't turn in to F1 politics.

I decided to go to Brands yesterday. Much of a last minute deal. The save from Plato was incredible - I was sat in the Paddock Hill grandstand. Who says only Yvan Muller can do those sort of 90 degree to the track saves? Bit dissapointed that Jonny Adam did get relegated to 2nd - like you all have said it wasn't as deliberate as some other drivers. Even Matt Neals moves at Clearways are referred to now as "The Matt Neal move" Why nobody else tries that on Matt Neal I don't know!

Adam definately deserved a penalty for knocking plato out of the way. Sure he didnt do it on purpose but he did blatantly gain a place by hitting him which cant go unpunished. Shame as if he hadnt hit him he probably would have got past and won the race anyway. Neals moves didnt come as close to ending someones race as the adam/plato incident though but sometimes very hard to call, if neal makes a lunge gets halfway up the inside but someone still turns in on him then there is nothing he can do but hit them, if they gave room and drove round the outside there would be no contact. However sometimes he was very optimistic and was relying on pushin them wide or giving a little tap to get past so he prob should have had a small penalty or at least a little warning that if he did it again he would get a penalty. In racing you have to accept that sometimes people will get penalised for innocent mistakes, some people will get away with anything all the time and some incidents you expect a penalty for will not even be looked at. After a few years of racing in the SMRC im used to inconsistency

Watching all the suport races too, there was a lot more 'disputable' moves going into Druids - quite a few times, guys were defending their line up the inside and blatantly got pushed up the backside...I think the Ginetta guy did get penalised for it tho. did you see the comedy when the dirver picked up his bonnet on the slow down lap and somehow thought it would stay on the car without being clipped on? comedy... Thomson was quite impressive for his first time in the car.
However Sheds could have done just as well if not better.
Was more annoying with all the JT JP bull.
