Rest in Peace. Yet another sad loss of a great talent to motorsport.

One of the first drivers I ever met. Always had a soft spot for him because he raced against my old man back in the good old days. The most understated driver I have ever met, he deserved so much more. www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/66266

Nice tribute. So I'm assuming that Seat Curves now becomes Seat Curve at the top of the dip and the left turn on the exit is Leslie's?

Good tribute, I'm glad to see this, also sounds like a nice tribute at the GT meeting.

Nice tribute, but.......... at what stage will Knockhill sell it off to a company. I think it is so sad that Clarks is known as Carlube etc.... I think Knockhill would have been better to name the Start Finish straight after him to remember the happy times David would have had when he was starting or finishing a race rather than somewhere he had a big off!! Just my opinion...

Isn't the start/finish straight called the Stewart Straight though? Not that anyone ever remembers that but to rename that would be little better than renaming Clark was... although admittedly if a corner must be renamed I'd far rather see it named in tribute of a great driver than in tribute of a sponsor who'll be gone in a few years (as we're already seeing with Duffus presumably returning to its original name until another sponsor comes along) I appreciate the need to make money, and realise the sponsorship is probably necessary, but I'm afraid it just seems so disrespectful to the people the corners were named after previously that I just can't be happy about it... Hislops and Leslies are corner namechanges I fully respect and am delighted to see; as for the rest, I still think of them as their original names, like most people I suspect. Anyway, back to the original topic - did anyone see the ontrack tribute to Leslie at the GTs on Sunday? I missed it unfortunately; I'm guessing it was early in the lunchbreak as there was nothing happening when I got trackside towards the end (the Legends were out just before lunch so I was up at their garage after their race for a bit), but I did hear that Stewart Whyte's Honda was meant to be out on track as well as the Nissan. Can anyone give any more infos? I'm sorry I missed that, sounded like it was a great way to show respect to him. Also noticed both in the paddock at Knockhill and on a couple of BTCC cars on tv, stickers which were clearly meant as a tribute to him, with his picture over the shape of the Knockhill track - anyone know if they're available for fans to get hold of? I think Mike wants one for his car if possible (he may well try and sneak one onto his Legend too, when Aly Hunter isn't looking )

Hi Catriona, Re the David Leslie on track tribute, lunch break started with the Knockhill Seat's and Ferrari 360 taking members of David Leslie's family and others around the track, also taking part at this time was the Gulf GT40 being driven by Ian Forrest, who I believe was accompanied by David Leslie's wife. After this the Nissan Primera Touring Car driven by Anthony Reid, and Stewart Whyte in his Ex David Leslie Honda Accord Touring Car in appropriate livery toured the circuit at speed for approx 4 laps to the accompiment of Pipe Music and then Queen's, We Are The Champions for the final lap. A fitting tribute I thought, to a great driver who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A lot of the btcc cars were carrying those stickers especialy Gordon Shedden who also dedicated his win to Dvid Leslie which was a great mark of respect .
