I'm just wondering if the rules on the Newcomers are changing for 2008, I believe it was 2 seasons as a newcomer in the past, but a wee birdy has told me that may change . This could pose a problem for me as i have only done 2 meetings and still regard myself (AND DRIVING) as a newcomer. Does anyone have any info on the subject...............

I don't know if it has changed but dont expect the SMRC to be understanding if it has. I was excluded from the newcomers cup in 2007 because in their eyes doing 1 race in 2005 is equal to doing all 12 Logical? I think not. But apparantly the rules are going to be reworded to something that is clear and makes sense from now on so everyone knows exactly what you can do before no longer being classed as a newcomer.

I think there must be a solution to this somehow. Surely the SMRC can see those of us doing "toe in the water" races aren't doing anything worthwhile or setting the world on fire!
I'm in the same boat where this is my "2nd year" of newcomers my 1st consisting of 17 (un!)competitive laps.
I spoke to Chris Edwards prior to the October meeting and from what he said it sounded as if the valid period would only be getting shorter.
