The British GT championship have decided to return to Knockhill in 2008. The date listed is the 4th of May. The F3 boys who are normally on the same bill are not coming which is a great pity. As yet there is no statement as to what else is on the programme.

Oooh, nice to hear about the GTs, seems ages since they were last up! Shame about the F3, seems we never can manage to have all the big series visiting at once, but the GTs will be a very welcome return I think

Excellent, now if only we could persuade SRO to bring the F3s up as well rather than going to Bucharest....

No Chance of F3 coming. Bucharest was a great trip for the money men of F3. Todays Muttering Nudes has a story about the GT teams not wanting to come to Knockhill. If I am honest I have to agree with them that it is a bit tight for a big GT to stretch its legs. Likewise at Dallaras F3 recommended ride height of 15mm it is not possible to even get on track from the holding area at Knockhill without hitting the floor on the uneven surface. If it is not profitable for the teams they will not come.

Got the regs today and Saturday as expected but Sunday Wow our last race 12.25 that means I could be out of Knockhill by 1 and get the boat home on Sunday night. Then I check Scottish Legends site and they say its ammended check Knockhill website and guess what were on at 3.40 or something like that so guess I will have to keep my hotel booking after all Ali

I was thinking that this would be a good meeting to marshall in return for a signature for my newly aquired licence. Does anyone know when signing on is for the folk in orange on sunday morning?

From a few reports I've read it sounds like the marshalls had a busy day today ..... 3 safety cars, oil spills, a pitlane drive through...

You certainly couldn't say it was a boring weekend...! Seems like all the series were trying to outdo each other in the spectacular accidents department - Legends and Scottish FFords seemed to behave themselves but everyone else was having much fun Among many I can think of was a GT blowing up massively at the chicane and several more going off on its oil in the first race, in the 2nd a Ferrari decided to climb the tyre wall at McIntyre, in one of the Ginetta races there was a 6-car pileup at Clarks... there were a lot of red flags and safety cars all round! Add to that much confusion as the Legends were mistakenly given a 15-minute race yesterday - as a spectator I have to say I loved it, double the normal length, great to see them ontrack for so long, however as not even the drivers were aware of the extended race length, there was a lot of debate over it! Think the Legends again put on a great show at a big meeting, lots of really good racing out there again

I was up there today, I had great fun, its almost like being back at Le Mans, I love the noise of a proper GT car unlike the diet 1s we get up at the SMRC being noise tested.
I was glad to be recognised by some people not others, I kept my stupid hair-do and massive scar under a wide brimmed hat which helped when the hail and snow arrived.
A couple of my friends from Cranfield work for Beechdean, they were so nasty about Knockhill and the weather! I explained to them that it has its own micro climate and the weather just doesn't blow through!

they were so nasty about Knockhill and the weather! Of course. Never rains or is cold south of the border. Besides which, it never really rained worth a mention this weekend. Just to prove my point - after 11 consecutive Legends meetings which were affected by rain we had our first fully dry weekend in ages. Eventually got comfortable again in the car but I struggled to shake the rust off and was pretty awful most of the weekend, especially when my brakes faded to nothing in that cock-up of a first race where we ended up running 15 laps and I spun it hugely down Duffus - Mr Booth has many interesting pictures of me coming to a halt on the racing line just ahead of the leaders! Loved the GTs, even if the races were a little chaotic - great to have top sportcars at the 'Hill again and there was such a great range of them in the field. Glad they came back after all this time and hope it happens again as I'm a sportscar nerd. Catriona noticed something interesting - take it there's a falling out between the track and Seat? The commentators were carefully avoiding calling the top of the Dip anything other than "the first turn" today, plus the programme had the sponsor-named corners all correct except for "Duffus Dip"...

One thing I didn't like was the people! Too many people! I had to queue for a burger at Danny's, that doesn't normally happen!
Don't get me wrong I am pleased to see the crowds there but why are there so few spectators when I'm there? I am alot more exciting to watch than 20 of the same cars. The legends race just before lunch looked very exciting. When I am there I never get to watch the other races, I am normally to wrapped up trying to get the car to the grid.
Some of the standard of the racing in the non-Scottish lower formulae left alot to be desired.
