I hear what you're saying Nick. I just think that for a number of reasons it's necessary in Scotland. Too many people are put off ST's up here by the price, so something to make it cheaper is a good thing. Fiesta's have to compete with Mini's and at the moment we're losing.
Then theres the number of cars damaged due to 'cold slicks' on the rear. Perhaps a slightly more forgiving car wouldn't be a bad thing. Then there's the time factor if it rains just before a race. It happened at Croft, 2 minutes to the start and the ST's all had to run away and put wets on. Gives a big delay in the program.

you could always just use the Dunlops wets up at Knockhill! (only joking).
