Yep just phone Knockhill and get yourself booked. You can pay on the day but you gotta pay a little bit more for that.

How much is a testing session? (website doesn't seem to list the price)
Its a while since I've been up on a speed sunday but have they successfully clamped down on the driving enough to make it safe to take your race car out? Seems like you get quite a lot of track time at those events, just got to beware of people playing bumpercars.

Think it was about £60 - £70 this year. The pre season tests seem to be much quieter, I think they actually opened up a test session this year to allow road cars as well, turnout was low. Also I don't think it's been unknown for tests early in season to be snowed off!

First Race isnt till 18th April so you should get a few test days in half decent weather before then.

Thanks for the further info guys. I think I'll aim for getting the car ready for the test session on 20th Feb.
Emicen, like yourself, I'm also not so keen on using Speed sundays as a test session. I even used to avoid them as trackdays due to the "standards" of driving. I did attend a few Dreadnought, Scooby Club & Hot Marques events and they seemed to have a much more mature standard of driving, but maybe they're not so keen on having a bunch of XR2's on track with them? Anyway, it's early days and I'm sure there will be a few opportunities to get some laps in before the season kicks off.
Ali, ref your quote about the first race date..... has the 2010 calendar been published already?

I was up at the trackscotland day a couple of weekends ago and it was a well disciplined affair. There was some bitching about a certain Mr Sleigh's driving on the forum though lol (I got a passenger lap and saw no issue with it tbh but there you go).
Anyways. David had the Mini out and his brother had the XR2 out and they were doing fine in traffic, everyone was being sensible so as to avoid bumps in quite greasy conditions. I'm buying the pink Mini but couldn't get out on track due to a gearbox issue. Reckon I may give a couple of speed Sundays a go just making sure I hang at the back then use clear laps to avoid any risk of collision.

Shameless self promotion here...I organise a few track nights for Monklands Sporting Car Club. We won't have any till after the start of the season but we always welcome well behaved racers in race cars that ain't too stupidly fast.
Emicen, are you keeping it pink?
Cheers Baz

Duno yet. I'll need to chat to Chris see what conclusion we come to. I'm thinking of keeping bits pink until the fundraising reaches it's target at least.
