Best of luck to Nick, John and my old team-mate Rory at Silverstone today. They all qualified in the top six along with Stewart Scott so hopefully there could be wins for people we know this weekend...

I'm afraid our old team mate failed to finish

I'm quite pleased with opening result - I did lead for a couple of laps but the wets got too hot on a drying track - Elleseley had slicks on the front and they started coming on... John was driving really well this weekend - unfortunately, he locked up going into Abbey on Lap 1 and would have slid wide and rejoined - however, Rory was in front of him and halfway around the corner when John went steaming into his side. Both cars have a lot of damage - Rory's I think is mainly cosmetic, John's broken a lot of bits on his front corner. Unfortunate accident but at least it was only a single meeting so one dropped score for them both. Rory is apparently doing the full season so he'll be back at the front - he was seriously quick for his first time out in an ST... N. www.nicksandersonracing.com

Have to say Rory was completely just in the wrong place at the wrong time. I dived down the inside of the car in front of me coming up to the abbey hairpin and braked where I had been braking all weekend, including in much wetter conditions, and just locked up. The STs have ABS but i just slid straight on, collecting Rory in the process. Don't know why the ABS didn't work. A marshall who was there did say that a caterham had dumped some petrol on the circuit in the previous race around there but there were no "slidy flags" out so not sure wht happened.
Real pity for both of us and hope to see him out at Snetterton.

yep, big fat cheque book for John... Spoke with ICR and Rory's is aminly cosmetic but it does need a new A-pillar - already being repaired for Snetterton... At least it was only a single meeting so they can both take it as a dropped score... N. www.nicksandersonracing.com
